this ring is dedicated to Gertrude Stein—modernist, innovator, and icon of transformation. it resembles the brooch depicted on Picasso’s portrait of Gertrude Stein, 1905 - 1906

like Stein’s writing, the design is bold, direct, and deliberate. she favored simplicity—“I like words of one syllable”—a principle reflected in the ring’s clean, modern form.
